マーモン・グループ

　1953年にコルソン・コーポレーションとして

　　　ジェイ・プリツカー

　　　ロバート・プリツカー

によって設立された。

　2013年からはバークシャー・ハサウェイ・グループが保有している。

　同社は、輸送機器、電気部品、その他の産業部品を製造する会社、および建設サービスを提供する会社を所有している。

　タンク車の製造は同社の事業の重要な部分を占めており、製品は子会社である米国の

　　　Union Tank Car Company

とカナダの

　　　Procor

を通じて販売されている。

　北米最大の貨物鉄道会社であるBNSF 鉄道を所有するバークシャー・ハサウェイは、2007年にマーモンの経営権を取得した。

　また、6年後に単独所有者になった。

　1953年、ジェイ プリツカーとロバート プリツカーは、キャスター、自転車、海軍ロケット、車椅子の売上高 300万ドルで不振に陥っていたコルソン コーポレーションを買収した。

　マーモン・ヘリントン社を買収後、1964年に社名はマーモン・グループに名称変更された。

　マーモン・グループによる主な買収には、セロ・コーポレーション (1976年) とトランスユニオン(1981年)が含まれる。

　2008年、プリツカー家はマーモン・グループの63.6パーセントの権益を48億ドルで

　　　バークシャー・ハサウェイ

に売却し、バークシャーが今後5〜6年かけて残りの36.4パーセントを取得する計画だった。

　バークシャーへの残りの株式の売却は2013年までに完了した。
